QUICK PROCEDURE
FOR VISA ARRANGEMENT
How to Apply
Foreign students applying for admission at Universitas Gadjah Mada must apply for a study permit from the Indonesian Ministry of National Education. The application documents should be addressed to:

The application documents consist of the following:
- Curriculum Vitae (resume, personal data).
- Guarantee statement, indicating financial ability to undertake education within Indonesia, in the form of a bank statement.
- Certified copies of academic record and undergraduate diploma.
- Letter of recommendation (nomination letter) from applicants’ school/institution
- Letter of acceptance from the host institution (MMUGM)
- Letter of recommendation from the Indonesian Embassy
- A letter stating that applicant will not engage in a job and will obey the Indonesian laws and regulations.
- Passport size photographs (4 pcs)
- A copy of passport showing the applicant’s picture and the date of issuance and expiration. The passport must be still valid for minimum 12 months and current for the period of study in Indonesia.
- Statement of good health from applicant’s doctor.
Universitas Gadjah Mada will take care of the application so that the students do not have to apply it through the Embassy. Double application will result complicated procedure and may be rejected. Type of Visa: C.
Otherwise, they should apply for Social Visit Visa (Type of Visa: B) at the nearest Indonesian Embassy. This kind of visa is simple to proceed but it is valid only for 60 days. Two weeks before the visa expires the students can extend for 30 days. Another 30 days extension can be applied two weeks before the first extension expires. Students should pay foreigner tax to the Immigration Office for each extension application as much as IDR300,000.
Please note that tourist visa is not accepted.
